Washoe Indian Baskets

The Washo Indians lived on the western edge of the Great Basin, near Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

Their Basketry is made of willow, red bud, and braken fern.

Washoe woman wove cones, trays, cradles, large baskets, and degikup baskets for ceremonial and mortuary use.
